Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Infuse the Oil: Gently heat the calendula flowers and carrier oil in a double boiler for 2-4 hours. Keep the heat very low; you don't want to fry the herbs. The oil should turn a deep golden color.
  2. Strain the Oil: Let the oil cool slightly, then pour it through a cheesecloth into a clean bowl. Squeeze the cloth to get every last drop of infused oil.
  3. Create the Salve: Reheat the infused oil in the double boiler and add the beeswax pastilles. Stir until the beeswax has completely melted.
  4. Final Touches: Remove from heat and add the lavender essential oil, if using.
  5. Pour and Cool: Carefully pour the hot liquid into your storage tins or jars. Let it cool completely on the counter until it solidifies.

Your homemade calendula salve is perfect for minor cuts, scrapes, burns, and dry skin. Enjoy the peace of mind that comes from knowing exactly what's in your skincare.
